Needless to say, there are many shortcuts in Pro Tools. One doesn’t need to know every shortcut! (At least that’s what I tell myself). Following are the shortcuts I find useful for the kind of work I do.   Delete Fades  Control Command F Select all the clips for which the fades need to be deleted, then use the shortcut to delete all the fades in the selected files. Checking Audio MXF after the DCP is made

First, a short introduction of why I ended up testing the Sound MXF. I will always check the MXF from the DCP from now on.   A Short Film for which I did the Sound Recording and Design for got selected at the Berlin International Film Festival. The DCP was made at a Post-Production Facility in Mumbai. My team asked for the subtitle font size to be set to 21 instead of the usual 38 (or 36?).     These few blogs will be aiming to give a brief introduction about Sound for Films. Some details are specific to India/Bangalore. 'Sync Sound' is the term used to refer to capturing the vocal performance of the actors on set during production/shooting. The goal is to record clean dialogues so that the actors will not have to Dub (ADR) the lines in a studio later. It is impossible for an actor to recreate the spontaneity, pitching, intonation, rhythm & emotion of the performance. Especially....
